Wichita State is officially headed to Rupp Arena for the first time in program history. The Shockers will play Kentucky on Friday, Nov. 27, in Lexington, WSU announced Thursday afternoon, adding another marquee road game to a nonconference schedule designed to strengthen the program’s NCAA Tournament resume.
College basketball analyst Rocco Miller was the first to report the matchup Thursday morning. The Eagle subsequently confirmed the one-off agreement with multiple sources before WSU made the game official later in the day. The Nov. 27 date slots Kentucky between a pair of WSU home games, with New Mexico visiting Koch Arena on Nov. 21 and Southeast Missouri State scheduled for Nov. 30. Whenever the ball goes up For a Wichita State program trying to return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2021, the appeal is obvious.
